Hello – it is actually very common for disc conditions to begin when a person is younger, so it wouldn’t surprise me if that were the case for you.
We typically recommend that you rest for 2 weeks, but if the pain returns, you really should have it looked into further just to see what’s going on.
With your mom being a nurse practitioner, she should be able to order some testing for you.
Thanks!

Hey there Im 16 years old and my mother is a nurse practitioner. I recently have had a horrible throbbing pain in the back of my neck after doing some of my excercises. When I do 1 or 2 pullups I am fine but if I increase it to say 20 continuous reps i let go and have a horrible throbbing pain in the top of my neck. My mom thinks i might have a bulging disc. Since it is a temporary throbbing pain followed by a very minor soreness/stiffness is that the beginnings of it? Howlong shouldIrest thanks

well, I really think that’s an incomplete picture of what’s really going on. The truth of the matter is that muscles can not become imbalanced if the nervous system is functioning properly, and with a herniated disc, the reason the nervous system is not working is because of the pressure from the disc.
So, if you strictly focus on changing the muscles, you really aren’t getting to the source of the problem.
I think you’ll really enjoy seeing an activator doctor! Let me know how you do.

They say that most of our conditions are based on muscle inbalances and that doing their specific exercise for certain problems will align everything. And stop the problem from coming back etc…
But yours is specifically aimed at my problem which is the bulging disc (on my L5) which is pinching the nerve down my right side and causing me so much pain.
I’m going to go and get some of the activator technique you have suggested.
thanks again

Hi Ali!
You’re very welcome – I’m happy to hear that the information is helping you!
I really haven’t known anyone who has used the “lose the back pain” system, so I’m not sure if it’s similar to my guide. Everything I write about in my guide is straight-forward, step-by-step information that I have found has been beneficial to my patients.
I’m not aware of anything else out there like it, which is why I decided to write it.
Thanks again!

Thank you so much. I’ve used the ice twice now and it has already eased the burning sensation in my foot and calf.
I am going through your tutorials atm. They are very informative.
What do you think of the ‘lose the back pain system’. Is that similar to what you are offering
thank you for your quick response.

lol – I got cut off because of the limited number of characters allowed in these responses.
Anyway, I do recommend chiropractic care for a herniated disc, but I recommend that you see a DC who is certified in the activator technique. This is the most researched chiropractic technique, and does wonders for a herniated disc usually.
Hope that helps!

Hi! I would not recommend that you use ice and heat at the same time. This confuses the nervous system, and can actually make the pain worse.
What I would recommend is that you use ice until the pain has eased, and you are experiencing more of an achey sensation (this usually takes about 3 days of consistent ice treatment).
Then, once the pain is reduced, you will notice the muscle tension more than pain – this is when you want to switch to moist heat.

Hi there,
If you have the herniated disc and used ice to ease the pain, can you use heat packs on the symptoms of tight muscles (hamstrings) due to sciatic nerve pinching?
Also, being a chiro, do you recommend visits for this ailment? Or does that aggravate the disc?
thank you

I’ve been browsing on-line greater than three hours lately, but I by no means discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is pretty price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content material as you probably did, the net will be much more helpful than ever before. “When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object.” by Milan Kundera.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing some research on that. And he just bought me lunch since I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch! “For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” by Virginia Woolf.

I do accept as true with all the concepts you’ve offered to your post. They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for starters. May just you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
