What is the best bed to relieve back pain?

I get back pain during the daytime when I walk or stand for 20 minutes or longer. What bed would relieve that pain? Not a memory foam mattress though! It costs too much!
I also want one that’s comfortable too!

I am having knee surgery (ACL ) and I am worried about taking pain meds. I took Vicodin for 3 days once for sciatica, and when I stopped, I had the shakes and threw up for 6 hours. I realize it may be coincidence but I am concerned nonetheless. Should I ask my surgeon for something different?

Pain started from hip to foot(toe) 3-4 weeks back. Taken as muscle pull but later on diagnosed as Sciatica. Age:55, wt.:75 kgss, ht:5′-6″. In Delhi(India). Govt. service. Suffering from this problem for the Ist time. Grateful for yr sincere advice for quick relief. Though better with medication and phiseotherapy, second opinion sought says micrscopic surgery which w’d like to avoid.

What is the best way to get rid of back pain associated with pregnancy?

I am 31 weeks into my 40 week pregnancy (over 7 months) and work in an office setting where I sit all day. I make sure to get up every 90 minutes or so to stretch and walk around, but I am getting tremendous back pain the longer I sit, at the lower of my back. I think the baby has dropped (turned over so it’s head is at the bottom)…

Is there pain reliever, special chair cushions, or anything else that is safe for me to relieve the pain?

I’m 25 years old and have a herniated disc in my L5. The doc is giving me a cortisone shot next monday and two days later i leave on vacation to mexico. Will this shot really help? What is the best cure for a herniated disc?I know some chiropractors claim they can help with their machines (spinal decompression and adjustments) but none of that stuff works? I hurt my lower back when I was weight lifting last year. I thought the pain would go away over time but instead its been getting worse. The pain that I get is very excruciating. I’m only 20 years old and I can’t even walk fifty yards without squatting down to stretch my back for relief.
