www.spineplus.co.uk Herniated Disc – Demonstration of how a herniated disc can cause leg pain ‘sciatica’. A herniated disc or prolapsed disc is sometimes referred to as a ‘slipped disc’. For a number of reasons when an intervertebral disc bulges outwards it can put pressure onto any number of nerves radiating out from the spinal chord. These nerves follow specific paths as they travel down the leg and irritation can cause different types of leg pain. My husband had a sudden pain in his lower back. After a few minutes of activity he could not move because the pain was so bad. He is now laying in bed and can barely move due to the pain. Due to insurance he cannot get to a doctor until morning. Does any one know what the cause of this could be and anything to alleviate his pain til he gets to the doctor?
My fiance’ has a pain in her lower back almost everyday. When i massage it i notice that her muscles are almost rock hard/knotted until i massage them. Her doctor has prescribed her with meloxicam which is an arthritis medicine, the medicine does not help at all any other suggestions, besides icy hot, or ibuprofen/pain meds or some sort of diagnosis?
Hi Everyone. I have a herniated disc in my neck (between C5 and C6) and lately the pain and stiffness seems to be getting worse. I’ve been getting these terrible headaches, that almost feel like sinus, but the pain seems to start in my neck and make its way up to my eyes. When I put ice on my neck, the headache goes away, and so I am completely confused as to what may be causing this. Can the herniated disc be causing these headaches? All answers are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I had a back spasm (intense pain in my lower back) a couple days ago, but it faded after a night’s sleep. Today I’ve had this dull, minor pain in my lower back that’s just kind of there, not increasing or becoming any sort of annoyance. My urine has also been colorless, which is weird since I haven’t been drinking fluids any more than usual. Is there something wrong?
